Infectious Control

Infectious Control

Protecting healthcare facilities during construction and renovation projects is critical to the health and well-being of patients and healthcare workers. Construction can negatively affect air quality by stirring up dust and other airborne particles, increasing the risk of infection in some patients.

AIRTEK has extensive experience constructing all types of containment barriers and generating infection control permits at all levels and types. Each of our employees is trained at our on-site facility to ensure they are taught proper containment building and equipment usage. We also employ full-time safety officers/quality controllers to inspect the work and ensure proper setup, including a technician that is Rescue and Assist Certified, Respirator Fit Tested/Certified, Dust Buster Certified, and Fire Stopping Install Level 1.

Our work includes inspections and non-invasive activities; short duration activities which create minimal dust; demolition or building component removal which creates moderate to high levels of dust; and major demolition and new construction projects.

We work closely with facility management to develop control and safety strategies, beginning with conducting an infectious control risk assessment from which to construct a project management plan. Our team will also build and utilize containment areas for control, monitor negative air pressure, coordinate and pull necessary permits, conduct terminal cleaning and ensure compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations, including coordination of firewall penetration installations and inspections of fire stopping in compliance with current fire codes.
