Southern California was declared a disaster area after the state’s deadliest blazes in more than a decade ravaged hundreds
of thousands of acres in the Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties. While the plumes of smoke and walls of flame
subsided, officials continue to assess the resulting public health and safety issues. Alliance is playing a vital role in
the restoration of the affected areas through the cleanup and removal of hazardous materials such as smoke residue and asbestos.
When a fire of this magnitude occurs, the residual damage can be as extensive as the actual burn. For example, homes not directly
damaged often experience a high level of toxins in their internal air ducts, so it’s recommended that homeowners who have
air quality concerns have their air ducts inspected for allergy- and disease-causing contaminants.
