In 2003 Alliance Environmental performed mold remediation at a family
residence in Rancho Sante Fe, an affluent area located in the north county of
San Diego. The remediation was necessary because of a pin-hole pipe leak that
had been leaking for several months and had affected multiple areas within the
home including the kitchen, hallways, dining room, stairwell, and bathroom.
Mold growth was present and damage to building material was easily identified.
Kitchen cabinetry, high quality wood floors and large of drywall were destroyed
by both the mold and water damage. The remediation cost approximately $15,000
and was done using normal industry-standard methods. Alliance obtained a clearance
and approval and the homeowner hired a general contractor to rebuild and remodel
the affected areas.
The cost to rebuild cost was approximately $100K and a year later during
the final stages of completion the remodel construction company re-punctured
the same pipe that had leaked previously while attaching baseboard. The pipe
leaked again for up to six months and damaged the same areas of the home
that had been affected the year before. The general contractor was at fault
and their insurance company would now have to cover the costs for repair
and remediation.
The homeowner was distraught, to say the least, and called Alliance Environmental
back to try and solve their dilemma.
The homeowner did not want to replace the new, expensive cabinetry and asked
if there was any way to dry the affected areas and destroy the mold issue
as well. Using the ThermaPureHeat treatment, Alliance was able to achieve
both acceptable moisture levels for reconstruction and eight days before
Christmas obtained a mold clearance from the lab of H.M. Pitt. In addition,
the technician for mold testing told Alliance that mold spore levels from
three air samples came back way below outside ambient levels.
The cost was lower and just under $20,000 using the new ThermaPureHeat remediation
system. Alliance Environmental was able to:
leave all cabinetry in place
save all remaining floor materials
protected heat sensitive building materials within the affected
areas
saved the customer, general contractor and insurance company
time and money to repair the damage.
Another successful job for the Alliance Environmental Group and their ThermaPureHeat
treatment for mold.
