VOC Pollution & Air Quality Abatement

You have probably heard or seen the acronym VOC on various products you buy at the store. VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compound, and it is used to describe organic chemical compounds that enter the atmosphere after vaporizing. According to EPA performed studies, indoor air quality is actually one of the top 5 largest hazards to our health, because VOC levels within our homes are between two and five times higher than what would be found outdoors. Pollution of the air by VOCs is a very serious matter that requires addressing thru VOC control and removal from the home so that we can have higher quality indoor air.

Alliance Environmental offers services aimed at reducing or eliminating VOC pollution in your home or office.  Our innovative, patented ThermaPureHeat treatment attacks harmful VOC pollutants by pasteurizing a structure - rapidly introducing heat to a “sauna-like” temperature to dry out and kill VOC pollutants.

Many of the products we buy and use regularly, both liquid and solid, contain Volatile Organic Compounds, which would emit a gas pollutant. The Volatile Organic Compounds are made up of a lot of different chemicals, some which cause or help cause short term illness and health effects, while others cause or help cause long term illness and health effects. Volatile Organic Compound emissions have much greater concentrations indoors, making the air quality inside between 2 and 5 times as bad as the outdoor air quality. So why is everyone worked up about the outdoor air quality if the air we are breathing in our own homes is so much more toxic?

Examples of products that contain VOCs include:

  • lacquers and paints, unless the product was specifically designed to be low VOC or no VOC,
  • paint stripping agents,
  • chemical cleaning supplies,
  • building supplies,
  • pesticides and weed killing agents,
  • furnishings,
  • office equipment like printers and copiers,
  • correction fluid like white-out,
  • carbonless copying paper,
  • craft materials and graphics materials such as glues and adhesives,
  • photographic solutions,
  • permanent markers.

As a result of all of these products, VOC air quality can suffer significantly, causing harm to the people that are regularly breathing in these volatile organic compounds. This VOC pollution is capable of being created by thousands of different products, meaning that we are constantly impacting the quality of the air where we live and where we work in a negative way.

Contact Alliance Environmental today and take the first step towards improving the quality of the air that you breathe.
