Alliance Environmental Group Participates in IFMA World Workplace 2016

Written by Alliance Environmental

On Wednesday and Thursday of last week, Alliance Environmental Group participated in the IFMA World Workplace 2016 tradeshow and conference in San Diego, California. IFMA stands for the International Facility Manger Association. It is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for facility management professionals. The association supports over 24,000 members in 104 countries.

Alliance and Airtek are currently members of the local California chapters, which include the following: Silicon ValleyOrange County, and San Diego. Each chapter holds monthly educational session meetings, usually during the lunch hour of the day. Alliance has a representative attend every monthly meeting in all local chapters to stay involved and up-to-date with the facility management industry trends.

IFMA strengthens facility management skills for professional members by promoting their lunch sessions with riveting and relative topics to the industry. These meetings also educate associate members to give them more insight on the daily tasks and needs of facility managers – leading to a better understanding of what the managers need and how to service them best. The association manages to unite professional and associate business partners together, creating networking events that help sustain and build valuable professional relationships.

As Alliance Environmental Group continues to grow in the West Coast region, the importance of such relationship building opportunities is extremely high. Recognizing this, we were proud to involve ourselves in such a prestigious association and widely known event. IFMA World Workplace changes location every year; last year’s being in Denver, Colorado. Having the expo in a city on the West Coast and in a location where Alliance and Airtek have a branch was key for participation.

The event had a large Expo floor at the San Diego Convention Center where the associate members had exhibit space as well as a lunch area for all attendees. The professional members attended workshops and classes throughout the day, and the Expo floor remained open Wednesday, October 5th from 11:30am-4:30pm and Thursday, October 6th from 10:30am-3:00pm. The professional members were able to come and go as they please to walk the floor in between any scheduled seminars. With a large event of this magnitude, assuring things run smoothly is an extensive process. The event was remarkably well organized. All attendees, facility managers and business professionals alike, could tell the many hours put into running this event by ease of flow from beginning to end.

Many new, valuable connections were made throughout the course of IFMA World Workplace. The facility mangers mentioned the seminars were of great interest and brought light to new information that they found to be beneficial towards their career. The professional members also said the Expo floor was filled with helpful vendors that they either had been looking for, needed, or saw a future need for their services and/or products.

To conclude, Alliance Environmental Group and Airtek Indoor Air Solutions had a meaningful time exhibiting at our first IFMA World Workplace conference. We value the connections and relationship building opportunities that the International Facility Manger Association continues to provide not only to our company, but also to the World as a whole. Finding ways to connect people on such a large scale must be a challenge, but IFMA continues to shine and achieve it with grace.
