When water damage occurs in your home, it can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. That’s where we come in. Alliance Environmental is a leading provider of residential water mitigation services. Our team of trained and certified professionals has the expertise and equipment necessary to quickly and effectively address water damage in your home.

Alliance Environmental’s trained and certified professionals immediately access and document the extent of damage from a water loss. As all water damage may not be visible, we use state-of-art technology including thermal imaging cameras, thermo-hygrometers, and moisture meters to detect moisture under floors and behind walls. By identifying all of the saturated areas, we can dry them immediately and eliminate the conditions for mold to develop and for structural damage to occur.

Whether you’re a homeowner or a business owner, this video is a must-watch for anyone looking to learn more about the critical role water mitigation plays in protecting your property.

Categories of Water

There are several categories of water that can cause damage in your home. These categories are based on the level of contamination in the water. Understanding the different categories of water can help you understand the necessary steps for proper water mitigation.

Category 1: Clean water

Category 1 water is water that does not pose a threat to humans. This includes water from a broken clean water supply line or a faucet. If not properly addressed, however, category 1 water can quickly escalate to category 2 or 3.

Category 2: Gray water

Category 2 water is contaminated and can cause discomfort or illness if ingested. This water may contain bacteria and other microbes. Examples of category 2 water include water from a dishwasher or washing machine, or water that has overflowed from the toilet but not yet mixed with feces.

Category 3: Black water

Category 3 water is highly contaminated and can contain pathogenic agents, toxins, and other harmful substances. This includes water from a sewage backup, river or ocean water, and standing water that has been stagnant for more than 48 hours.
